These pages have been preserved for reference purposes and to exemplify how to give voters easy access to the information they need to cast informed votes in school board elections. They were a first attempt at providing this service and improvements can be expected with coverage of the 2022 elections.
The focus of the pages is on systemic renewal based on the belief that equity, inclusion, youth empowerment, the development of soft skills, and the well-being of students cannot be achieved with the industrial model of education. We hope to partner with groups like the Ottawa-Carleton Assembly of School Councils (OCASC) to provide information for voters on their more immediate operational concerns such as budgets, staffing and zoning that impact students and families.
Following is the UCY homepage from the final days before the 2018 OCDSB elections. The links lead to information on each of the OCDSB zones and the 2018 candidates.
