Adam attended the How to Create the World Your Kid Needs event June 9th. This is what he had to say at the end of it.
“My takeaway was that parents are concerned about their ability to participate in the decisions that affect the education of their children in a meaningful way. Parents want to be actively engaged, but feel that there are too many barriers in place for them to share their thoughts with decision-makers. Even when they are consulted, they do not feel as though their input has made a difference. Parents want a board that will address this disconnect.
“I was glad to have met with trustees, candidates, and parents who were so committed to improving the system. I hope to be at future events like this one.”
